Remote online notarization allows a person to appear before a commissioned notary public in real-time using audio/video technology. Documents are notarized with an electronic seal and stamp. Remote online notarization (RON) became effective in Oklahoma January 1, 2020 with the authorization of State Senate Bill 915. Edgemere Notary Service is partnered with Notarize/Proof to process remote notarizations. At this time, we are not permitting online notarizations for wills, powers of attorney, trusts , copy certifications and Form I-9s. Please click on the Notarize/Proof website link for more information: https://support.proof.com/hc/en-us/articles/360056921694-The-Signer-Process-from-Start-to-Finish. Carefully read this information so you are prepared for your online session.
****Please make sure the receiver of your document permits online notarizations***
At the time the online service is booked, the document will need to be uploaded for review. This can be done on our website booking page, however, if this step is missed, please email document to notary@edgemerenotaryservice.com. Any blanks on the document should be filled in by the signer EXCEPT for the signature and date. For security reasons, documents emailed directly to us are deleted after notarization is complete.
After the document has been reviewed, an invitation email will sent for the scheduled Notarize/Proof session. Instructions will be included on how to get started. After completing the session, you will be prompted to download your notarized document and will also receive it by email.
Signer requirements: a) internet connection b) valid U.S government-issued ID or passport* (military ID & inmate ID not accepted) c) access to a smartphone or computer with audio/camera capabilities. Some documents may require 2 forms of identification.
